We assisted a single gentleman who had just received notice his home was not inhabitable. Therefore, he was homeless. We provided a week in a local hotel until he could find alternative accommodations.

We assisted a gentlemen who had lost his wife suddenly. He lives on a fixed income and we assisted with part of the funeral expenses.

We assisted a young homeless couple with several nights at a local hotel. We also were able to help them with a security deposit and first month's rent. The couple has just started with new employers and were new to the area.

We assisted a senior citizen with a portion of their rent. This was due to short notice of a rent increase and their current social security income would not be available for two weeks.

We assisted a local single parent with her electric bill. She had recently been involved in an automobile accident, which left her unable to work during recovery.

We assisted a homeless man with a one night stay at a local hotel. The gentleman had someone located in Texas that he could live with and Boones Creek Christian Church purchased a one way bus ticket for him to the location in Texas.

We assisted a single mother who is new to the area with a portion of her rent deposit. She and her young son had just moved her from out of state.


May 2022

We assisted a local family with rent late fees. The primary income person had some unexpected medial issues arise, and due to reduced income, the family was in jeopardy of losing their home.
We assisted a single mom with a past due electric and water bill. She had just started a new job and due to the delay in her new salary she had fallen behind in payment.


April 2022

We assisted a church member with some electric bills following their diagnosis of cancer and having to spend time away from work and out of town for treatment.

We assisted a local family by making two monthly house payments for them. The family has become friends of some of our members due to a connection made at St. Jude's Hospital. The family has a child with cancer and is making regular trips back and forth for treatment.


March 2022

We participated with the Community Health Center's annual Hunger Challenge Campaign by making a donation.

We provided a new piece of technology to one of our members who is blind. This piece of technology increases her independence by reading books and signs to her and otherwise helping her navigate through the environment. You can watch this video for more information on the technology.


January 2022

We provided a lunch for some local health care workers to show appreciation for their continued work in challenging circumstances.

With the help of a dedicated couple, we provide groceries on a regular basis for a small group of international students studying at Emmanuel Seminary at Milligan University. Many of these students have left families in their home countries and made other tremendous sacrifices to come here to further their education and training before returning home.

We assisted a young man with a few days shelter in a hotel and some money for transportation until he can get re-settled in his apartment, from which he was displaced due to a change in ownership.

We assisted a working couple by paying the majority of the expense for the installation of an electric pole and service at their trailer home to enable them to have heat and hot water before winter weather sets in.

We assisted a couple with a couple weeks shelter in an extended stay hotel while they await unemployment payments and the first paycheck from a new job.

We assisted with funeral expenses following the unexpected death of a family member of one of our church members.

We paid a car repair bill for a single man trying to get back on his feet and gave him a referral to the ETSU Day Center for assistance with housing and job hunting.

We purchased and donated many selected school supplies for the Community Help Center’s annual drive. These school supplies will be given to area children in the coming months before school begins.

We paid utility bills and a mortgage payment for a local family unable to work due to COVID illness.

We paid a vehicle repair bill for a local family with a special needs child to enable them to continue getting the child to and from their special class several miles away. This family is a friend and was referred by a member.

We paid the legal costs for a family who had to pursue an emergency conservatorship for an adult child with special needs.

We purchased many new coats and blankets for the Haven of Mercy drive and challenged the church to donate coats and blankets as well.

We purchased many food items for the Community Help Center's food drive.

We paid the cremation cost for a man who regularly attended our Monday evening service with his sister before the pandemic. Unfortunately, he died due to COVID.

We paid to buy a lunch for the teachers and staff of Daniel Boone High School showing them appreciation and encouragement for their work, especially during the challenges of the pandemic.

We assisted a local single father who has been out of work due to COVID but diligently searching by paying some utility bills.

We assisted one of our families by arranging for and paying a significant portion of an immediate family member's unexpected funeral.

We assisted a couple small families or individuals with gift certificates for food.

We assisted a couple that had moved to the area in establishing their own apartment by helping with initial deposits.

We assisted a local couple by paying a portion of their unpaid electric bill.

We assisted a single man by paying a portion of his back rent that had accumulated due to his lack of work since the COVID virus struck.


August 2020

We purchased two folding picnic tables for the Christian Student Fellowship at ETSU to enable them to establish some outdoor gathering areas for students this fall semester.


July 2020

We assisted a local person by paying a water bill that had gone unpaid for some time.

We made a gift of $2,000 to an organization (RIP Medical Debt) that eliminates medical debt, which is a major cause of bankruptcy. Our gift should eliminate approximately $200,000 of medical debt for individuals and families specifically in Appalachia.

We helped a group of international students attending Milligan University and Emmanuel Seminary at Milligan by paying for several months of electricity for a couple and providing funds for a Boones Creek member couple to purchase them groceries. Several of these students have made great sacrifices to come here to study with little or no support from family or their home country and the pandemic only heightened their struggle.
